Calvary Baptist Church/Zion Baptist Church
Designed by Architects Jackson and Rivinius, the church was built from 1890 to 1893. The church originally named Calvary Baptist is an example of the Romanesque Revival style. In 1911, Zion Baptist purchased the church under the pastorship of Rev. David E. Over (1909-1924). Zion Baptist is the oldest black congregation in Colorado organized in 1865. The building is a rectangular plan with a crossed gable asphalt roof.
