Building Histories

Digging through all of the historical resources available to compile your house or building history can be a daunting task. We want to help! We hope you enjoy exploring all of the collections we have digitized to help you on your way. If you need help at any point, visits to the Western History/Genealogy Department are always welcome.

The Denver Public Library has many resources for helping you learn about the history of a building. You may be trying to find out when it was built and what it cost, who lived there or what business was there, and what it looked like in the past. The best place to start is with the building itself. You may find a copy of the original building permit or blueprints or other clues that will help you get started.
