The year is 1914.  Ben Okubo, like many Japanese immigrants to the US, settles in Los Angeles and starts a family.  Nearly thirty years later, in August 1942, he learns his family has three days to sell or give away everything they own—except for one suitcase per person.  They must board a train for the high plains of Colorado—to the Granada War Relocation Center, better known as Camp Amache.  Read more »
