Growing up Jewish in Colorado
The Ira M. and Peryle Hayutin Beck Memorial Archives of Rocky Mountain Jewish History, part of Special Collections, Penrose Library and the Center for Judaic Studies, University of Denver has collected records for more than 30 years. The archives has a variety of materials of Jewish families, including private papers, institutional records, oral histories, memorabilia, and evocative vintage photographs. The first Jewish baby girl, Clara Goldsmith, was born in Denver in 1860 and through the years many children grew up as Coloradoans on the East Side of Denver, on the West Side of Denver, on farms and ranches, and in small communities.Featured Communities
