Graffiti at the Abandoned Wastewater Reclamation Plant
Graffiti Paradise
I took these color photos back in about 1987 with a disposable camera - these pictures represent a tiny fraction of the graffiti that covered every surface of the entire abandoned sewage plant, and my chagrin at not being able to muster a documentary film crew to capture the entire wonderland of creativity that was there is boundless. I had them on the web for a while, and got emails from people who were thrilled that I had images of a place that in graffiti circles, was legendary. Then, 10 years later, cataloging photos in the Denver Public Library's collection, I came across photos of the same place when it was new, in 1937. Those are the black and white photos. Today, the area is "Northside Park": ~ ultimately a great improvement!Featured Communities
